"The only time you really live fully is from thirty to sixty. The young are slaves to dreams; the old servants of regrets. Only the middle-aged have all their five senses in the keeping of their wits."
- Theodore Roosevelt
So we were talking the other day and Tom says "well you'll be 35 in 6 months". I quickly answered "No!" Certainly he must just be joking, kidding me, teasing ...but he just looked at me (waiting for me to catch up). And then there was a long silence as the old wheels in my head tried to work out the math, and I realized he was right. And I sadly replied "yeah. I will....". Wowza. Where are the years going? I don't even so much care that I'm going to be 35, what I'm worried about is where the last five years went. Didn't we just celebrate my 30th birthday, drunk at the Winning Edge, with all my friends and family? How can it have been that long ago? So I'm going to take the next few months to ease into this 35 thing...and enjoy the last few months of my early 30's.

Aren't these the cutest little boys?! And to meet them just makes them more irresistible (if that is even possible) because they have the sweetest personalities! I can't believe how much they have grow just since mid July when I photographed them for the first time. Now they are moving all over the place. They are talking and laughing and mimicking the "big kids". My kids always look forward to playing with the boys! But then I get home with the pictures and all of a sudden they all look like one baby! And I can't tell which one is which to save my life! lol.
What a fun time we had! We started off with the customary pre concert Hu-Hot lunch. Then we headed to the Coralridge Mall where Tami searched and agonized and searched for the perfect pair of doc's (found) and the perfect top to go with her brown O.N. pants (found). My sole purchase was some Irresistible Apple lotion from B&B (I love it!). We had dinner with some of her friends at the Vine, then headed to Hancher Auditorium (the round about way, but we found it) for the show!!! Melissa Ferrick was the opener. I had not heard her before, I really liked her stuff. But Ani was Great!! oh my gosh, it was so fun seeing her live, she is an incredible artist, and an incredible musician... I'm already looking forward to next time!

Raji brought her family over on Saturday for pictures. It was so nice to meet her husband (who brought all kinds of Bosnian goodies for us to eat) and see her son, who has gotten like four teeth since I saw him in July! We had a lovely morning and got some good pictures. Gosh, next time we get together they will be a family of four!! You can see all the pictures on flickr
Dan was telling us that he had never been mini golfing. How could I have denied my children this joy for so long? What kind of mother am I, to have never taken my children mini golfing?? So we went. There aren't any really nice mini golf courses in our area (are there anywhere? I suppose there are). The first one we went to didn't look too fun, so we ended up across town at airline amusements. It was fun but still really buggy (come on frost!). Here's a picture of Dan doing his best Carl Spackler imitation (Caddyshack).

When I look at this picture I hear the Village People singing in the background!!!!
May he always be confident enough to pull off a leopard skin cowboy hat and a red sports wrist band.
I suppose it won't be too much longer and Dan will not let Waverly sleep in his bed... Sarah just couldn't help but get into the middle.
This afternoon mom brought the kids into Waterloo for me as Waverly had an orthodontist appointment at 2:30pm. I had a baby shower to go to at 4:30pm and was just going to take Waverly with me. Mom was going to take Dan shopping and then home with her. But Dan told her that he thought he would just go with Waverly and me because since he was going to have babies some day, he should probably know what goes on at a baby shower. Is that the cutest thing ever? Dan loves babies. He held Hannah for quite a little bit, he was so comfortable with her.

We went to Parkersburgh for Derick's (#60) first freshman football game of the season. They won 30 to nothing!! It was a lovely evening for a little football and they played well. It's hard to believe how much he's grown, I swear he gets a little taller every time I see him!

So I got in on the new scrapbook club that Michele is holding (this runs the opposite month of the technique club that she has, that I belong to also!). Last night was our first night and we did a great page, that was so quick and easy. I got the photos printed (they are all from this year) and put it all together this morning (gosh it's nice to have a day off!). I'm so happy with the way it came out. Now I can't wait until the next time we meet!!
I also finished a couple of pages of Colorado pictures. I used the same layout on both pages. They are a little busy for my taste but I'm leaving them as they are. No sense in over working it.
I came across the instructions for these acetate cards on Splitcoaststamper. They were way easy to make too. While I was picking stamps for the Christmas one, I came to the realization that I don't have as many Christmas stamps as I thought I did. I'm going to have to do something about that!!

I finished this after church on Sunday. It ended up being less work than I thought it was going to be. I don't know that I had all the details worked out in my head when I was thinking about it, so I just kind of added things as i went.
Tonight I'm attending my first scrapbooking club at Michele's . I've anxious to see what we are going to put together as she's kept it secret from all of us! I'm sure it will be fabulous!
