Christmas Morning!

We've had a lovely Christmas. Nice to have four days off (with the weekend). Here are some pictures of the kids from this morning. They were in rare form, all decked out in their new pj's.

Wav got 3 new sets of furniture for her beloved doll houses. Thank you Grandpa Dale.

Dan in his new Manning jersey (do you know how hard these are to find?) and Colts hat. Thank you Grandpa Dale.

Wav opening her new comforter, that she's been begging me for, for months now. Thank you Aunt Lauria & Uncle Danny.

Dan opening his electric blanket, thank you Aunt Lauria & Uncle Danny.

Grandpa Kevin & Grandma Sandy bought Waverly a guitar, thank you!! It was just what she wanted. (Do you have any idea how much this is going to cost me?) I spent a good part of the morning trying to tune the stupid thing. I'm a pianist not a guitar player. Well at least this morning I wasn't a guitar player but we'll get to that later.

The many faces of Dan.

As always, we had spent part of the weekend looking for Waverly's missing glasses. Much to my surprise she found them in the bottom of her Christmas stocking. Go figure.

Stella had to be right in the mix of things, of course.

We got the kids Guitar Hero II. At this point in the morning I did not realize that they were actually opening my gift. I'm not much of a gamer. I've tried to play xbox 360 with the boys. I end up getting shot or run over in the first 15 seconds. So after un-packaging all the doll house furniture. And putting batteries in the Crayola thing-ies and in the interactive doll (that cried and belched for the first 30 minutes) I thought I'd take a break and see what this guitar hero was all about. Three hours later i emerge from the darkness of our tv room. My left hand was cramped and callouses were starting to form on my first three fingers. My legs ached from the rock star stance you have to take in order to properly play this game. I'm in love. I'm a GUITAR HERO!!! Oh I'm hooked like a little boy. It was all I could do to pull myself away for Christmas dinner (which took place at Arby's, out at the Mill, because that was the only thing open and we had nothing good to eat!).

Needless to say we've had a wonderful Christmas. Dan, my new roadie, loves to watch me play GH II. I really couldn't tell you what the rest of my family did today, but I'm certain they had a lovely day as well.
I'm glad the holiday's are over, too much stress for me. My tree was down and packed away by 10:24am. I'm ready to get on with 2008!!
