This weekend has been full of photos! Yesterday I was able to spend a few hours with Lisa while she took engagement photos. I had the best time! I'm so looking forward to learning from her and hopefully contributing some as well.

Today Alyssa & I were finally able to get together. Thankfully it wasn't terribly cold outside. The sun was shinning more than i would have liked (i know make up my mind, just a few hours ago i was complaining about the lack of sunshine) but we found a couple good spots around town.

Longing for summer

I think that's pretty normal this time of year for me... Add that to the feeling of just wanting to get away from it all for a little while and I naturally gravitate towards these photos. Grand Marais is my favorite run away spot, my happy place (way better than midgets & beer, lol). Thankfully the sun has been shining this weekend and it's been above freezing. We'll see how long that lasts!

The crafty-ness has returned!

Well kind of. I've gotten a few things done lately.
This is the layout that we made at my monthly scrapbook club earlier this month. Great layout Michele!!

I made this card for the sketch Challenge 159. The vanilla paper on the 2nd layer is actually textured, i ran it through my wizard with a fiskars texture plate (thanks to Joan who got me the proper sandwich pieces so i could use my texture plates!!). I just love the origami paper too with the gold accents in it!

These were just a couple cards i whipped up. The birthday stamp is from My Favorite Things I just love those headless girls!! and the thank you letters are a great Hero Arts alphabet set i picked up at archivers last friday.

Congratulations, you sound excited (you used the word "cool" three
times). I watched some of the caucusing on CSPAN last night, it seemed
a little confused (both parties) but is a good system to get the average
people more involved in the process (no matter how misguided their party
is....:) ). I didn't really hear or read how much bigger the turnout
was over other years, just that there were a lot of first-timers.
My thoughts on Huckabee are he seems to be very personable and probably
a good person, but I don't think he will stand a chance nationally, too
bad. I do get tired of the 'talking heads' and their rationalizing the
process.. what is an 'evangelical' voter? and how do they differ from
the 'moral majority' or 'Christian conservatives' ? Are they just the
opposite of the 'Jewish liberals' or the 'immoral minority' ???? And
what makes Obama 'black', his appearance? Certainly not his mother. I
guess with his father coming from Kenya and his mother from the USA he
could more accurately be called African/American than most of the
people who claim this origin. Why does the race, religion and sex, of a
candidate have to be such an important factor to be considered? I my
opinion a persons' stand on issues and intentions and ideas on governing
should be most important. I think there are more pressing issues facing
our country than abortion, and some people being richer than others, and
someone who has made some bad decisions in their lives (sometimes over
and over) that feel they should be bailed out by those who have made the
same decisions, but learned from them. etc.
Well enough of ranting... Good luck with Barack. I'm sure he's
pissed off Hilary and 'Pretty Boy' John Edwards, so stand-by for some
real nasty shit....

PS: I love options that are given by 'spellcheckers" Suggestions for
'Huckabee' "chickadee, cockateel, kickable, lockable, mockable,
shockable, buckaroo, and buccaneer".. I would have thought this was done
by the Liberals until I got the suggestions for 'Obama".... "drama,

What's on your top 25 play list?

Cathy Zielske recently posted her top 25 on her blog. Everyone who knows me knows how much I love music. All kinds of music!!! My top 25 is pretty accurate, although sadly since I had to re image a few months ago it's not as accurate as it could be, but I don't think it would be much different. It's fun to look thru my list and remember where I got those songs from. I've been know to search for hours for obscure stuff (I love Or who introduced me to a particular artist or song. Or remembering where I first heard a song I fell in love with! Anyway, take a look at your top 25 and reminisce.

High Fives all around!!

Needless to say there is a lot of woohoo'ing going on at my house (well Dan & I at least)! This was the first time I had attended a caucus and I was impressed with the way it worked and we had a GREAT turn out. It was interesting to me how many people I knew that were first time caucus goers. Like we've finally found someone we can get behind and is worth our time and effort.
